Slammers FC Set CalSouth State Record
HONOLULU, HAWAII (15June2008) - The Slammers FC have done something no other club had done in the history of the state. They sent SEVEN teams to the Far West Regional Tournament. “It’s a tremendous accomplishment,” said Walid Khoury, one of the clubs directors of coaching. “It says a lot about the kids and how much time and effort they put in. They did all of the things— the hard work to put themselves in this position.”

The GU-12, GU-14, GU-15, GU-17, GU-18 and GU-19 teams all qualified. On the boys' side, the BU-16 team advanced. “They [BU-16] are the first boys' team to ever make it to regional,” Khoury said. “This makes everyone involved very, very excited.” “It’s astonishing when you think about it,” Khoury said of the seven teams. “There are so many great players in this state it’s hard to comprehend right now, but we are very proud.”
